In August of 2018, two lightning strikes on the Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts 140-acre campus caused a fire that burned one art studio to the ground and damaged another.

Usdan is a summer camp in Suffolk County, New York. Started in 1968, it brings professional teachers, artists, actors, directors, playwrights, painters, sculptors, musicians, composers, dancers, poets, and novelists — to teach and collaborate with campers ages 5 to 18 from Long Island and New York City.

Managing a fire claim can be a daunting task for a commercial property owner, so when Usdan suffered their 2018 fire, they engaged our licensed public adjusters at Goodman-Gable-Gould/Adjusters International (GGG/AI) to lead their claims management process and negotiate for recovery with Zurich.* Our adjusting team worked diligently to ensure a seamless claims process without delay.

Our decades-long experience in fire damage claim adjustment helped secure fair and just settlements for Usdan, and ensured their noble work of educating in the arts continues for years to come. Goodman-Gable-Gould/Adjusters International, the right way to settle claims.

*Our expertise was recommended to Usdan by our past client, Ms. Roslyn Wu, Vice President of Risk and Contract Management at Midwood Investment & Development, a development company with over 130 properties across the United States.

In March of 2015, in Williamsburg-Brooklyn, New York, Midwood retained us to conduct a Builder’s Risk insurance claims negotiations with their insurance company (ACE, now Chubb), after suffering extensive damage to an 82-unit residential building, with retail on the ground floor. Ms. Wu has often recommended GGG/AI to others and remains available to comment on her claims experiences.
